First Baptist of Wildwood is a Bible preaching church, with vibrant traditional music under the direction of Pastor Chad Teal. We welcome you to join us for services. We trust that you will experience community, understand truth and find purpose in Christ.
OUR PURPOSE
To plant and water the Gospel seed in every heart, everywhere at all times. By Helping People…
Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus’ final command is our first priority. Every facet of our church program relates to our biblical purpose in some way.
Know
GOD’S GOODNESS THROUGH EVANGELIZATION FOR SALVATION
Christianity isn’t something anyone is born into. It is something one must believe into. One becomes a Christian by believing that Jesus Christ is the Creator, Saviour and Sustainer of all. As Creator, He spoke the worlds into existence. As Savior He humbled Himself and became the Son of Man Who willingly gave His life as the only suitable payment for our sin, and as Sustainer He holds all of creation together. John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:16,17; Acts 4:12
Grow
IN GOD’S GRACE THROUGH EDIFICATION FOR SANCTIFICATION
Becoming strong in the Lord is a result of “growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” – II Peter 3:18. It comes by regularly meeting together with your church family, consistently studying the Bible, praying, and putting into practice all you have learned from God’s Word.
Show
GOD’S GREATNESS THROUGH EDUCATION FOR SERVICE
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
OUR VISION
To love Him and others by learning and living His Word.
through faithfully teaching and preaching God’s Word.
Our desire is to help people come to faith in Christ and develop a personal relationship with Him that will transform their lives. We strive to spread the Gospel through personal evangelism, Bible preaching, and world missions. We believe the Bible has all the answers, and that a thorough understanding of God’s Word will shape our worldview as we live our lives.
Our Values
The First Baptist Church of Wildwood values a multi-generational approach that honors the wisdom of older generations while embracing the energy of the young, fostering unity through worship and ministry for all ages. They prioritize preaching the whole counsel of God with sound theology and contemporary application, while worship blends traditional and lively expressions of faith. Their mission is marked by personal involvement, global partnerships in spreading the Gospel, and a commitment to practical holiness, encouraging believers to reflect Christ in their lives.
1 Multi-Generational Ministry
We treasure and honor the experience and wisdom of older generations while simultaneously embracing and harnessing the strength and exuberance of younger generations. Worship services and most churchwide activities are specifically designed to minister to all ages.
2 Priority of Preaching
We endeavor to preach the whole counsel of God in context and with contemporary application utilizing both expositional and topical sermons. We embrace a literal, grammatical, historical philosophy of interpretation and are unashamedly dispensational in our theology.
3 Purposeful Worship
Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, both old and new, are presented in a traditional yet lively manner.
4 Personal Involvement
Every member is a minister of God’s grace to every other member and to the world.
5 Planned Partnerships
We partner with Missionaries around the world enabling and encouraging them as they endeavor to plant churches, thus fulfilling the Great Commission.
6 Practical Holiness
Christians are called to be a light in a dark world. Light is distinctly different than darkness. We expect that the closer a believer gets to Jesus, the true Light, the less he looks and acts like the world and the more he resembles Christ in word and deed. Our leadership intentionally models personal, practical holiness and encourages others to follow them as they follow Christ.
